Florence Griswald house

Interior shots of the Florence Griswald house in Old Lyme, CT. In the beginning of the 20th century, Ms. Griswald opened up her family home to artists, and soon the boardinghouse became the center of American Impressionism.

Fairy Houses

I took these photos at the Florence Griswald Museum in Old Lyme, CT. They have an outdoor exhibit of fairy houses made by local artists. It's up until November 1, so you should check it out soon if you're interested.

Some self-portraits I took in my backyard today. I really need to go somewhere to find new subjects.

B&W Portraits

Flickr has a new feature where you can create galleries of your favorite photos taken by other people on the site. You can only have 18 photos in each gallery, so it's supposed to make you really think about how you are organizing it, as if you were a real gallery curator.

Exploration

I haven't taken photos in a long time. I'm focusing on writing a YA novel instead. But I did make this collage a few weeks back.

Kate Pulley

As summer is coming to an end, I thought I'd share the work of a young photographer that embodies the magical summers of youth. Kate Pulley is 17 years old and her flickr page says she is from Tennessee and Indiana. She often takes Polaroid and lomography shots, as well as film and digital. Most of her photos are of her friends and siblings (particularly her twin Amanda), many of whom are also photographers on flickr. Her work is romantic, quiet, and enchanting. Here are a few of my favorites.

I haven't taken photos in a while except for some self-portraits but I've already shown some of those... I want to share something different, and not old work. I'll try to work on taking new stuff next week.

Federico Erra

Federico Erra is a young Italian photographer. He primarily takes photos of somewhat unusual yet beautiful models, as well as doing self-portraits. Erra says he is inspired by Diane Arbus.

I love Erra's photos because they are dreamy and romantic, yet edgy. His work often evokes a vintage feel and he has an excellent sense of color and light. There is a real sensitivity to his work.
